Geetanjali Shree, who won the 2022 International Booker Prize, was nominated for the Author of the Year title at the 2024 Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year Awards in Mumbai. She received praise in the author's category.

In her speech, she expressed her appreciation and dedicated her award to Hindi literature. She highlighted that the award defines her achievement and the community's cooperative support and impact on her work. She also highlighted that the award recognizes Hindi and all Indian language literature.

Geetanjali Shree is an amazing Hindi novelist and short story writer who has given the world an altogether different experience through her brilliant novel. Her literary collection of six novels and five collections of short stories have been translated into many Indian and foreign languages.

In 2022, Geetanjali Shree also won the International Booker Award for her novel ‘Tomb of Sand.’ The most interesting this is that she is the first Indian author to receive such an award. Along with this, she also received the Warwick Prize for Women in Translation.
